The editing is all-important in this assignment - from the arrangement of graphics, images and text to adjusting colour balances or, for more ambitious students, compositing (combining) images.

The student work on the left shows a range of editing approaches.

Read the brief, take the time to understand what film posters actually do, choose a genre and get to know it!

Make a mock-up (a quick plan) and then decide what you need to learn in order to proceed. Find an existing poster to model (often, you will find tutorials telling you how to recreate certain effects from film posters. Book the studio (use class time if you want!) and get your photography done if necessary.
